Because a Local Authority Search is limited in the information it gives, we sometimes recommend that we carry out an Environmental Search as well. This contains information about contaminating and polluting processes, past and present; landfill and waste treatment sites in the immediate area; nearby sources of toxic or explosive substances; areas of ground that may have been filled in the past; the probability of radon gas seepage; and the risk of subsidence and flooding.
